I created Online Income with Kayla Griffin to document something I wanted to figure out for myself: how can you build meaningful income online without pretending there’s a magic formula for getting rich overnight?
After years of working in traditional professional roles, including technical writing, executive support, and administrative work, I found myself wanting something different. I wanted more control over my time, more flexibility in how I worked, and the freedom to build multiple sources of income instead of depending entirely on one job.
So I started experimenting.
Today, I’m exploring different ways to earn online, from freelance and AI training opportunities to affiliate marketing, content creation, and building my own businesses. Online Income with Kayla Griffin is where I share what I learn along the way.
There is an enormous amount of content online promising easy money, passive income, and six-figure businesses built in approximately seventeen minutes.
That isn’t what you’ll find here.
I’m interested in the much less glamorous, much more useful questions:
Does this actually work?
What does it really take to get started?
How much time does it require?
Who is it actually a good fit for?
And is it worth doing?
When I personally use a platform, tool, product, or income strategy, I’ll tell you about my experience with it. When I’m writing about something I’ve researched but haven’t personally tried, I’ll make that clear too.
I don’t believe in pretending personal experience where there isn’t any.
Online Income with Kayla Griffin is about building income on the internet in practical, realistic ways.
That means you’ll find honest looks at online work opportunities, platforms and tools, affiliate marketing, content creation, resources for building an online business, and the lessons I pick up while building my own income streams.
Some experiments will work beautifully.
Some will probably be spectacularly unimpressive.
Both are worth talking about.
My goal is to create the kind of resource I want when I’m researching an opportunity myself: useful information, realistic expectations, clear explanations, and enough detail to help you decide whether something deserves your time.
For me, earning online isn’t only about making more money.
It’s about building a life with more autonomy.
I want work that fits into my life rather than a life arranged entirely around work. I want the ability to pursue different projects, build businesses I care about, travel more, and decide where my time goes.
I’m still building that life.
And instead of waiting until I’ve supposedly “made it” to talk about how I got there, I’m documenting the process while I’m actually doing it.
